A wall displayed menu showing a caricature presentation of each item. The items are from a frozen value food range that will be served to residents at cost. these can be found at the Iceland supermarket ready meals value range. https://www.iceland.co.uk/1-and-les…eady-meals
The menu will be printed on an A1 board and displayed outside the canteen service window. It will also be printed on an A4 leaflets which will be given to residents.
The design should give a feel of a normal happy (suggestion hipster type) canteen. So that the hostel has a feel of normality to it.
The text for the menu to be as follows:
Canteen menu
Hot food and a glass of squash £1 [highlight the £1 and perhaps give a representation of the glass of squash]
Vegetarian lasagna
Chicken curry with rice
Spaghetti bolognaise
Mac & cheese
Sweet & sour chicken with rice
Cottage pie
Swedish meatballs & Chips
The canteen is open daily. From 12pm to 8pm.

Don’t oversell how good the food items look.
