I like sans serif, clean, modern, and simple minimalistic designs.
Would like to see logo(s) in lowercase, capitalized, camelcase, and words together (dailybrief) and apart (daily brief). Dark colors (black, dark gray). Also, if you have any creative ideas, please go for it!
Think if Apple had a newsletter, how would the logo / format be designed.
Newsletter & logo examples: The Hustle, Morning Brew, Axios, TechCrunch, Eater, Conde Nast.
Fonts: Web safe/friendly. I personally like Helvetica Neue Haas Grotesk.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
