The book is about grief so I think it should be simple, serious, but not so somber that someone wouldn't want to pick it up. It also ends with hope, so conveying moving from dark (abject grief) to light (life can still be good) or something along those lines would be good if possible.
What to avoid
Nothing cutesy and no pictures of sunsets or sunrises. Nothing too obvious. :)
