This website will be for a specific program that our organization produces-(We are a jazz music organization named Living Jazz). The program is called "In the Name of Love", the Annual Musical Tribute honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This is a yearly extensive civic and cultural event that showcases international and local musical talent, children from the public schools, archival footage of Dr. King, and the presentation of "the City of Oakland Citizen Humanitarian Award" presented by a prominent dignitary.

montereyjazzfestival.org- we like the boldness of this site, like the brite colors, use of their logo as a design element., like the different size boxes, we like the logos of the sponsors on the bottom, ninasimone.com- we liked the rotating center photos, we like the mast head, we like the graphic elements on the sides of the page, we like the use of just a few colors and black easy to read and easy on the eyes, we like the menu band very prominent, the black text boxes below are easy to read clear, we like the footer with the graphic design elements, indiaarie.com- we like the photo of her which stays as you navigate the site. great use of the whole page, love the colors, . bobbymcferrin.com- we liked that it was really clear, clean,black background, with nice use of color on the bottoms- does not need to be this simple th- we just liked it kellyegray.com- hip, colorful but clear and clean as well
Home page 1. Main photo of Martin Luther King used prominently as a main design element. 2. Possibly a few other images of Dr. King designed into the page. 3. The main info about the event including the name of the event, where, when, price, etc. 4. A paragraph with the basic description. 5. The logos of the sponsors for that year possibly along the bottom or along the side. 6. A listing in paragraph form of the funders and sponsors. 7. How to purchase tickets with a button that will be a link to the ticket outlet for folks to purchase tickets which is TicketMaster.com 8. A button that says "Donate Now" which will link to a donation form 9. A rotating slide show at top with images from past performances. 10. Our logo needs to be on the page in the top left corner- If the home page can relate to the logo in some way, that would be good. ( it is attached called "Living Jazz Square Copy") 11. We would like to the logos (buttons) for "Facebook", "Yelp", "You Tube" and the "Like" Button 12. The photos of the artists who are performing. a. Mavis Staples b. Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir c. Oakland Children's Community Choir d. Youth Speaks. We want there to be Horizontal Navigation menue tabs for future pages designed into the home page. These pages will be 1. about 2. press 3.gallery 4. directions
The King F arms poster bitmap is the lead image we want used in the home page design. We have downloaded several other images of MLK to be used as well. There are a few photos from a past performance for the slide show. There is an image of Mavis Staples our headliner artist for this year. There are also photos of the "Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir", The "Oakland Children's Community Choir" and "Youth Speaks". These images should be placed near the artists names. We have also included our organization Living Jazz logo. There is a document attachment "MLK Tribute Copy for Website" where you will find all the pertinent info on the event.
