Davidmd1975 needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 20 designs submitted by 7 freelance designers.
WeÂ’re looking for an uncoded template for our website that allows unsigned hip-hop/rap artists and DJ's to upload their raps and/or beats and get heard!
Once uploaded, artists even have the option to sell their songs and make money without even being signed to a record contract.
Raps and beats will be rated by listeners, with periodic contests as well.
TheILLIST.com
Tagline:
Get Heard, Get Rated, Get Paid
Desired Color Scheme:
Black, White, and Red (maybe a little blue too)
Desired Style:
See TheSource.com but without the streaming audio or the intro flash.
Should be hip hop oriented, but still professional.
We like the neat and simple look of the main page (after their intro) of http://www.TheSource.com (we dont want flash or streaming audio).
See below for the design idea for the first page. We can discuss alternative designs for the subsequent pages later.
We have a logo/banner from our site artist, so leave a space 200 pixels in height (full screen width--760 pixels, or whatever you usually work with).
Then the links bar will contain 7 headings in the order:
Music, Videos, Beats, Forums, FAQ, Store, Links.
Then the next section, 100 to 150 pixels in height, will contain:
Create account, Username, Password, Search with appropriate boxes for data entry (for instance, after username, a space for your name).
Rest of width: Ad space or "your ad here".
Then the meat of the page will contain 6 categories. It's up to you how to create this look. The 5 categories, in decreasing level of importance are (note that these categories may differ slightly from the excel sheet logosgo with these here):
1. "High Rollers Section"
2. "Sign up for a free account, Get Heard, Get Rated, Get Paid!"
3. "Top Rated By:"
Genre
Hustlers' Corner
Beats
Videos
Other
4. "Contests and News"
5. "Featured Artist of The Month"
We need the "High Rollers" section pretty large (see the first 2 entries above).
The "featured artist" & "Sing up for a free account" probably also have to be large. None have to be in a rectangular format.
Categories 1 & 3 above will have the following:
A listing of 10 artists left to right: artist name with a place for a picture above (see TheSource.com for an example), name of their song, then the average rating score 0-9 (see below link for rating scale imagedont include the whole image, just include one of the numbers).
Then we'd like a bottom tool bar with:
"Contact Us"
"Copyright Danish Enterprises LLC"
and a re-listing of the top tool bar
