SeeMyCuts is an interactive online platform that unites clients, stylists and salon owners in order to help users find “the right cut, right now.”
Here are some sites we like the design of: http://www.bellycard.com/ - We really like this site. It looks like it can be tied in well to the feel of an app. We like the easy access and simplicity of it and also the "help" button on the side. The blue border also gives it the right feel and it's not too bright. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ - We like how much this site is tied into social media, especially Facebook. Social media needs to be a big part of our users experience and the app and website layout should reflect that. http://getpunchd.com/ - We like how this site explains their concept to new visitors in a simple way right on the homepage. http://www.foursquare.com - the site is simple and do a great job of conveying their message. A wireframe of the homepage has been provided. This is just a starting point as we are in no way tied to this exact layout.
We are looking for a website design that is clean and simple to use. We like big buttons, big fields and a web 2.0 feel. We will be using WordPress as out content management system. Very Important: We want the website to be based off of the look and functionality of the mobile app, so both should look have the same feel and branding. All logos and mobile app mockups are attached. We like the idea of having a slider on the homepage to establish branding. We would like to start of will at least 3 slider images. Images should help brand the site and convey our message. There should also be a section to explain the concept to users, plus allow them to sign up or log in. Having this all on the homepage seems difficult, but you will see sites listed below that do a good job. The main focus of this page, as well as every other page will be the search field. The search feature is the crux of this site and as such should be dominant. We also want to include a real time update section, or Latest Activity, that will show what users are checking in at various locations. We feel foursquare does the best job of this now. There should be room for banner ads, but there is no need to make them featured or prominent. They can exist below the fold.
The winning entry will need to follow our instructions and guidance, provide quick feedback and grasp the overall concept of what SeeMyCuts is trying to accomplish. Our target audience is predominantly female and between the ages of 22-45.
