Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We will have two target audiences to our page. Parents wanting to place an order for their child's cards and parent associations looking to explore fundraising options for their School. The parents need to find where to go to order cards quickly and parent association members need to want to EXPLORE further. We think it needs to be eye catching for both audiences but use fonts and colours that support our product ie created kids. We'd like it bright and fun, to include some animation and be easy to navigate. We also have another business called http://www.celebrationcardsforschools.com.au for those who don't want to run a program based on a "Christian" event.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
We like all the white on the current site (built by us in a hurry) and that it's fitting of our audience but we just think it could do with some design input to give it the WOW factor and make people want to explore it a bit more. We'd like each page to be such that you don't need to scroll down and we'd like some animation of the children throughout to make it feel as lively as children (eg swinging boy on our logo or a pulsating heart on the top of our tree). We also have another website and so we'd like people to be able to move from one to the other to cross-sell. It's for schools who don't want to run a program for a "religious" occasion.
We would like a concept page created for our home page initially with a view to potentially working with the winning designer to have the others done. We will have the menu items as listed but we are adding two more being "Order Cards" and a "sign in" option for the coordinators running the program at the schools.
What to avoid
As per our logos...Yes, no drop down menus please but we're happy to have menus that expand as you hover over them.
Firstly, we are based in Melbourne Australia and so the time difference means that whilst your designing, we're sleeping eg if it's 11pm here, it's 12 noon in London so for those living throughout Europe, we'll be most responsive during our early evenings and your early mornings.
We have a number of logos etc which can be used or inspiration drawn from them. We think we would like photos but don't have any (not sure about them on this page though but we are open to ideas). We've loaded some photos on our facebook page which is https://www.facebook.com/christmasc…rschoolsAU. We would like a site that once designed and built, we can do updates to the text or add pictures to the gallery etc ourselves. Our main logo is the Christmas tree for this business and the one with the kids for our other business but we're happy for the designer to use whichever one the designer thinks will work best. Some of the logos have the brighter web colours and others are for printing. If you need anything re logos, just let me know
