Greenbelly Meals makes ready-to-eat backpacking meals for long distance hikers. 80% male; 20% female.
Hey designers! OVERVIEW: This design contest is to help us polish up our existing blog page design template. We want our individual blog pages to look a little sharper as well as add a few new items to the layout. COMPANY BACKGROUND: We are mainly a hiking food ecommerce company. However, a lot of our website traffic comes from backpacking and hiking content that we create. PROJECT REQUESTS: The hiking sandals link above is an example of a recent blog post we created: https://www.greenbelly.co/pages/best-hiking-sandals. You can use it as a reference point. What we want help with... 1. Improve Blog Banner Navigation Dropdown Design (see the red text on attached image file "Blog Page Template" under Section 1. also see the suggested navigation under file name "Blog Navigation"). a. We want users to be able to hover over the "blog" tab at the top and see categories > individual blog posts listed under each. See attached image example "blog navigation". b. Fonts, colors, etc? 2. Improve Blog Post Footer Design/ Layout (see the red text on attached image file "Blog Page Template" under "Section 2"). This section feels a little jumbled and could use some polishing - the order, the spacing, the content, etc. Overall want clean and easily navigable. Specifically these three things: a. greenbelly 'advertisement' image (any ideas to make this look better/ where to put? maybe use some actual text and a button?), b. writer bio (the blurb with the photo and brief paragraph), c. add a 'related content' section at the bottom. this is where we will add 2 or 3 pieces of related blog posts to keep the blog post visitor reading more articles. envisioning an image icon with text. welcome your layout ideas though. larger page width margins might help provide more space here? 3. Improve Overall Site Footer/ Layout (see the red text on attached image file "Blog Page Template" under "Section 3"). Rework. Maybe larger/ centered email sign up box. Side note - we would like to update those individual blog post names to blog post category names. 4. Other. Any other on page thoughts? -Buttons designs to click on for the products. -Maybe increase margin width of the page? Feels a little skinny. -Other design thoughts? Fonts, colors, etc -Mobile basic design? Think the banner navigation is probably the main thing. We can discuss if you are the winner. THANKS: Looking forward to seeing what you have to offer. I'll be available for questions/ feedback. Thanks in advance :) -Chris, Founder
