Travel & Hotel
We offer free walking tours around the world, and provide tourist information (like things to do, best tourist passes, ets) for almost all major European and North American cities. Our target audience is travelers so the site should be fun, exciting, engaging, aspirational, creative.
- Our target audience is travelers so the site should be fun, exciting, engaging, aspirational, creative - Modernize the site- it should be mobile-first, fully responsive & full-width - Clean, sticky header - Keep our orange & teal color palette - Every page template should be flexible, so we can swap out different cities/ images
1. Homepage: This should include a search function, along with popular destinations. Then it should explain who we are & what we believe. Then it should provide social proof through trusted organizations & press. Goal is to get users to the city they’re travelling to while building trust & showing our company values. I’d also like to add icons to indicate this last value proposition (Traveling should be affordable, we’re the local experts, and we’re the original pay-what-you-like walking tour, having given over 3 million tours) 2. City page: Here’s an example: https://freetoursbyfoot.com/boston-tours/. This should highlight & link to all of our tours. We do that today through the Google Calendar, then text, but I think there may be a more interesting way to present this information. I think this page is closer to what we like: https://strawberrytours.com/london. I don’t like that we currently have a horizontal & vertical menu; We should keep all that information, but do it in a different way. There should be a sticky city-specific header/menu with ‘book now’ option. The goal is for prospects to sign up for a tour and secondarily sign up for our newsletter or click a partner link. 3. Blog post Here’s an ex: https://freetoursbyfoot.com/things-to-do-with-kids-in-nashville/ This should attract tourists who are doing research about cities in which we operate. Most blogs provide information about things to do or a specific attraction in a city. Most are lists in one way or another, so having clear & flexible ways to differentiate items & sections is important. We should be able to include images and videos. The goal is for users to stay on the page for as long as possible, then sign up for our tour, or click one of our partner affiliate links, or sign up for our newsletter
We generally like the attached footer.
