We would like a new packaging design for our Round Table Puzzles.
First of all: The product line description -- THE ROUND TABLE PUZZLES: The Round Table Puzzles are ideal for groups of two or more! These circular puzzles have the top of the image in the center & the bottom of the image around the entire circle. This way everyone gets the best seat around the puzzle. Just as the Knights of the Round Table all had an equal seat around the table, everyone has an equal seat around the puzzle.
We would like this description above of the ROUND TABLE PUZZLE to be presented visually through an image on the packaging. In doing so, we want to quickly show individuals around the puzzle all working on it in harmony. As an example, we used the attached image in a recent marketing campaign to produce a similar effect. See attached JPEG, happy puzzlers c.jpg. However, we don’t want to use real people as their broad range of colors takes away from colors of the actual puzzle image. But these people definitely get across the right point – they are sitting around the puzzle and they are all happy.
I have attached 5 pictures of board games (labeled board-game-picture-1 thru 5.jpg) that use character illustrations similar to what I am looking for. Of course, none of them are around a table/puzzle with an aerial view of them from the top but I think this will ensure that we are on the same page. I also wanted to throw in another thought about character emotions…. not all have to be just happy – other possible emotions or actions could include hands up in air, intense concentration, looking at others, etc., but I will leave all that in your trusted hands.
As far as all of the other elements on the packaging are considered, I have included a general layout outline called Round-Table-Layout-Basics.jpg. This includes what the different elements are and where the different elements go. None of this is set in stone but it is a good guide to start with. I know the characters here are lame, they are really just there to hold the positions. I have also included an Illustrator version of this called Round-Table-Layout-Basics.ai for your convenience.
I have also included a dieline template of the box. It is provided in both an Illustrator version (dielineonly-10.5x10.5x2.ai) and a Photoshop version (Round-Table-Dieline-with-logo-and-Made-in-usa-button-and-artist-logo.psd). As the name suggests, the Photoshop version (Round-Table-Dieline-with-logo-and-Made-in-usa-button-and-artist-logo.psd) also includes 3 elements that you will need to include. 1 – The Made in the USA button. 2 – Our A Broader View name and logo. 3 – The artist logo.
As for the background color or theme – choose whatever color you find to be most appropriate or you can use the puzzle image itself if you can find a way to do this.
We have numerous Round Table Puzzles, but for this particular example we will be using the Creepy Critters version, which was designed by Michael Searle. The image of the puzzle needs to be front and center on the packaging. I have included it with the file called 372-Creepy-Critters-Searle-full.jpg. This image was created by Michael Searle and as such, we need to include his logo, preferably by the Creepy Critters title name. This is also in the Round-Table-Dieline-with-logo-and-Made-in-usa-button-and-artist-logo.psd file.
As for the text that needs to go on the box:
- Product Name: Creepy Critters
- Product Line Name: The Round Table Collection
- Product Motto: The Ideal Puzzles for 2 or More!
- Puzzle Piece Count: 500
For this text, I would like to use a font similar to that used in either of the two jpegs included ‘telestrations.jpg’ or ‘kinetic sand.jpg’. Your choice.
Please do not concern yourselves with any of the sides of the box until you win. I will only ask the winner to put this together as it will be using elements from the winning front cover. Further, it will be a quick task, once the front is done.
I look forward to your submission.
