You can view our game here: http://warsocial.com
We need three specific things designed, to improve our current website:
-Background image, style or design to replace current whitespace. Just go to http://warsocial.com and you'll see what I mean. The game sites in the center of the page and is surrounded by a sea of whitespace. We want a color or image to replace that which looks great and matches the rest of the page. Note: no other changes will be made to the game, nav or anything else - so it must match perfectly with the current layout and design. Also note that it's a responsive design that people can view on any device so whatever you do needs to look as good on an iPhone as it does maximized on a 30" display.
-Currently when new visitors come to the site they are dumped right onto the game, there is no call to action or any marketing language here, so it's probably confusing for them. We want new visitors to land on a 'ligtbox' that pops up in the center of the page, just like this: http://i.imgur.com/Ec0CKRN.png However instead of the lobby you see there, it'll be a miniature landing page that 'sells' the game to them. We were thinking there would be three icons or small images which clearly communicate the game concepts and represent: 'SIT' 'PLAY' and 'DIVIDE AND CONQUER' which is a very broad and simple tutorial for how to play. They 'sit' at a table then they can 'play' and then they need to 'divide and conquer' to win the game. Divide means to cut other players' territories from connecting and conquer means to win the whole map. Ideally the landing page would contain just those three images/icons along w/ those words and then maybe one sentence selling/explaining the game. Then there would be two buttons "PLAY NOW" and "WATCH".
-After players click the PLAY NOW button, they signup. Once they signup, they are dropped back into the game and can now sit and play - but they still don't know exactly what to do. Here we need another lightbox that gives them a very quick and fun tutorial. It needs to communicate that the game has a REAL TIME and MULTI-DAY mode and teach them very basic dynamics. Emphasis here needs to be on making it fun, short and heavy on images and light on text. Regarding the mechanics, here is our 'how to play' article: http://blog.warsocial.com/post/1865…l-tutorial
These are just general guidelines. If you think you have a better idea of how to accomplish our goals, feel free to violate any of the above and go in a new direction.
