I want to make an amusement park style map of my house for my son’s first birthday party.
The real map of my house with labels for the rooms is attached.
Obviously I’m looking for something playful and colorful that makes it seem like not a house but an amusement park.
In addition to the graphics attached on the map, I’m attaching the birthday party invitation so you can see the theme and the colors of all the decorations. We’d like to get this to match this.
And, it should have a header of some kind, “BENJAMIN’S FIRST BIRTHDAY” and I’d like the date, February 10, 2013.
I’d like to keep it 8x10 or 8x14. I’ll print it on a nice glossy paper with full color and a local print shop.
Descriptions of all the activities.
We’re calling the house “MISSION CONTROL” for the party to stick with the SPACE theme.
Outside the front door in a front porch. Probably would be nice to reflect that, we’ll have blue and silver mylar balloons that look like stars.
Front Door is indicated on my map, but doesn’t need to be, other than I guess some way to distinguish the entrance.
Planetarium is going to be the planets hung from steamers from the ceiling. So something that represents that.
In the planetarium there will also be a table on the left wall with guest book to sign in at and a table on the right side with guest take home favor bags. Indicated on map with the YELLOW Circles with red around them.
The Moon Walk is the blast zone bounce house.
Astronaut Ice Cream and Food is the food buffet. It will do on the area indicated by the stove range. Just standard food, not sure we need something specific other than something that looks like a food buffet.
Planet Birthday Cake is where the cake will be. Probably show a birthday cake, or maybe party hats.
Coats and Strollers will be for coats and stroller storage.
Astronaut photos is a cut out for people to get their picture taken with an astronaut, and putting their head in a cut out making them an astronaut. Maybe an astronaut posing for a photo is good here.
Bubble Universe is a bubble machine that shoots bubbles out. So, showing lots of bubbles. The floor will be a very colorful parachute from Gymboree, picture included, so might show that as the floor with a bunch of bubbles.
Baby Changing Station is a changing table, probably something to indicate that’s a good place to change a diaper.
Earthling Toys and Books is just a random kids toy room they can play in and books.
OTHER NOTES -
BATHROOMS – indicated by yellow circles. Definitely want it to be clear they’re bathrooms and available for use.
SWINGS – indicated by two green circles these are “swings” for baby naps, resting. Photo included. They should just be noted as points of interest, kind of a like a bathroom would be on a regular amusement park map.
STAIRS – are inidicated with the brown areas on the left side of each floor. They can be indicated however.
In addition to the map with the three floors, I want to show a list of the “RULES” for the party, which are below. My wife doesn't want to call them rules though.
