peter lIv got their new menu by running a design contest:
Design a Sophisticated but user friendly Menu and Restaurant Listing for Magazine
Check out peter lIv's Menu contest…
We work with restaurants to market and sell their food for takeout and delivery. The magazine that this design is for, in addition to content, will feature a directory of menus for all of the restaurants we work with.
What's your vision?
We need a menu template designed for our menu book which we can use to load all of our restaurants into. The attached image of the initial draft we produced, is something we are far from happy with. The menu is going into a unique, higher-end book, printed on 255GSM paper with a 305GSM cover. The design should: Reflect Sophistication Be Fashionable But also be Very Usable and Approachable as its primary purpose, a menu guide. The design should include: Restaurant Logo and Information Top 5 or 6 Menu Items A Brief Write-up of restaurant An ability to have a picture or multiple pictures The menu book is 5.5"x5.5" and the template must be 5.75"x5.75" taking into consideration a .25" bleed. These menus will be on both sides of the book, so the design needs to function in that way, or have mirroring versions. Designs with variants will, of course, rank higher in this process. We would prefer the design in PSD or InDesign format, and would have ongoing work with the designer to populate the items, if permissible.
We are attaching previous concepts which contain all of the correct content, but are not a look we like. We currently use lowvetica and champagne and limousines for a lot of the typeface in the publication, but are open to changes. Looking for a long term designer relationship as well.
