Community & Non-Profit
This is a grassroots cause for everyone to help restaurant servers (and also the whole tip economy) who are in such dire need as a result of this devastating COVID-19 pandemic. Included with this brief is a rough mix of our theme song, which is designed to inspire people to get involved, and also help the cause go viral. The Situation and Opportunity: The many millions of Servers in restaurants across our country collectively bring us so much joy because they literally “set the table” for the gatherings of friends and families and coworkers that bring us so many great memories in our lives. But the lockdown from the coronavirus epidemic has completely shattered their livelihoods. Nothing like this has ever happened to us, or them, in our entire lives. Restaurants are the largest small business sector in the United States. And this entire sector is shut down. This would have been ABSOLUTELY UNIMAGINABLE in our wildest dreams as a modern culture just a few months ago. Just imagine the devastation this is causing so many lives. But by standing together and doing just one simple thing together, we all can recover and all be stronger together like never before! As America’s restaurants open up again after the lockdown, we can repay our servers for everything they do to bring joy and festivity and dining pleasure to our lives. We can step up and help them and their families recover from such devastation. We can show our love and help get them back on their feet at a time when they need our help. If we all do our part, we will personally feel really good about how our country and the world are recovering together. We will help the world recover financially, but also mentally and emotionally. We will truly, collectively, feel better by helping restaurant servers, waiters, and waitresses, all get back on their feet. Restaurants are the lifeblood of our culture. They need our help, so we can all get our lives back to normal. Here's our solution: we want people to become part of a major national movement called “I Tip Double” We're asking people to take three simple steps to support this cause. Here they are: (1) Every time you go to a restaurant, when you get the check, simply double the size of your tip. Example: - If you normally tip 15%, tip 30% instead. - If you normally tip 20%, tip 40% instead - Write: #ITipDouble on the bottom of the check (2) Tell your friends and family and neighbors. Encourage them all to get involved. (3) Go on Social Media and share with everyone this movement to help the servers of our country, and how people can get involved. Use the hashtag #ITipDouble (By the way, this program is for EVERYONE. if tipping double is just too much, simply add an extra dollar to the tip. Every little bit helps. And if you can do more …. (and you know who you are 😊 ) … take the total amount of the bill and put that full amount on the tip line, so you double the WHOLE bill.) We will use this logo at ITipDouble.com and at the profile of the same name on all major social media sites. We will push hard to get this into the entertainment and media world. This will be a high profile campaign and cause. Let’s do this! Together! Let's do this with love, and let's have fun! (IMPORTANT NOTE: I, and the people we've recruited to help with this cause, are NOT affiliated to the restaurant industry and not making any money in any way. We are contributing our time, our talent and our resources. The furthest I personally got in the restaurant world was dishwasher and busboy, but I looked up to servers and bartenders. I saw them as amazing people). Thank you for reading to the end. Our diversity and our generosity are our strengths. Love is our superpower. Let's whip this pandemic together!!! Andy BONUS READING: PROGRAM FAQ’s: Q: What about other people, besides servers, who need help? Is this program for them too? A: Absolutely. The list goes on and on. A huge percentage of the people in our country relies on tips for the personal service they provide. Barbers, stylists, Masseuses, drivers, valet attendants, door people. So many of them have lost their income through this pandemic. Bless them all, and tip double. Q: How long do I do this? A: Throughout the 2020 year. So do this - whenever you can - from now through New Year’s Eve. Q: How can I help even before I can go eat at restaurants. Almost all the restaurants are closed. A; So many restaurants are actually open for takeout business now! Don’t wait. Start tipping double today. IMPORTANT: Remember to write #ITipDouble at the bottom of the receipt every time. That’s the way the word can get out. Plus, you can take a photo of the receipt and share it with the people you know! They’ll love what you did, and they’ll want to do it too. It’s always been hard to figure it out on the spot when I’m at a restaurant. A: Good news - there are two super easy ways to calculate a tip. Here’s the easy way to do it in your head. Say the bill is $60. To do a quick calculation in your head: First, calculate 10%. That’s easy. You just remove the zero. So $60 becomes $6. In other words 10% of $60 is $6. That’s an easy one! Then, to make the tip a 40% tip, just multiple the $6 times 4. That’s $24. Feel Great! You’ve done a really good thing for someone in genuinely great need! (2) Ask your phone! For example if you have an iPhone just say “Hey Siri, what’s 40% of $60?” Siri will display the answer on your phone.
Thank you reading this and getting involved. This is completely self-funded, and NO ONE is getting any benefit except for those who live in the tip economy. Let's make this great!!!! - Andy (Andy Jedynak)

Maria was incredible to work with. She listened to every detail that we asked for, envisioned for our logo, and made it come true. She was quick to answer any questions that we had, or give us her opinion when we asked for it. She was truly a pleasure to work us from beginning to end, and if we ever need another design we will definitely look to work with Maria again!!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
