david.griffus got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Re-inventing a century-old Coney Island diner in the heart of Michigan. Jackson needs its coneys.

should be a since 1914 in there somewhere. see the Nathan's Hot Dogs logo. maybe make that small and more understated.
There is a lot to say here, so I'm going to list some links here as well to help put the logo in context. Basically, I'm buying a 101 year-old coney island restaurant in Jackson, Michigan. Jackson is a pretty simple, rust-belt kind of town where I was born in 1983. The coney island hotdog is iconic in the local community...there isn't anyone there that doesn't like them. Imagine like what Austin would be like without Franklin's Barbecue or what California would be without fish tacos. Coneys are a mainstay of the local community and we're rescuing a failing business from an incompetent owner. Here's a link to the latest pictures of the place. http://goodearthlink.idxbroker.com/idx/details/listing/a341/20026502/615-E-MICHIGAN-AVE Here are some of the news articles with some of the history behind the joint. https://www.google.com/search?q=jackson+coney+island&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=jackson+coney+island&tbm=nws The target audience is really diverse. Everyone who loves coneys...old, young, rich, poor. Also, please note the design examples below that are favorited were just the first ones that I liked. Not necessarily exhaustive of the style I think would do well. I really need a logo that will look great on multiple media...signage, t-shirts, menus, etc.
Other color requirements
Yellows probably considering the color of the building, but I would consider anything.
See my comments above for links to more information. I'd like to bring a little youth into the logo...sort of a classic with a little bit more edge. Something that the younger folks would think to be cool on a t-shirt but not crazy enough to offend the older patrons. I really like the Torchy's Tacos logo personally, but obviously can't really use that.
