UPDATE: I've uploaded several new reference attachments. From what has come in so far, I'm realizing that I'm not a huge fan of borders & banners. I don't really want my logo to look too much like a badge. I want to capture the simple essence of this place - trees (maple, oak and pine) , rocky shoreline, lake, cabins (or cabin - singular) & sky. But I want people to look at the logo and see Trafalgar Bay, not just a generic cottage resort logo. As for style, think more traditional than vintage. I'm wanting a broader range of color too as the browns and dark greens make me think more of a camp rather than a resort.
As for our target market, we primarily rent to families in July/August, many of which have been coming back since I was a little girl (I'm now 38) and to couples (young and old) in the spring and fall. Most of our guests are from the big city (Toronto and surrounding area) and are wanting to escape city life and enjoy the lakes and nature that Muskoka brings.
Our cottage resort is a bit more on the rustic side. The landscape is kept fairly natural and not overly manicured. We have lots of white pines, maple and oak trees
In terms of colour, our main season is spring/summer so I do not want fall colours. I prefer spring/summer colours.
I am open to seeing all sorts of designs (realistic or even a bit on the abstract side, as long as it has a traditional, been in the family for 60 years, sort of feel to it.
