This logo is for a website design company called nectar. This is in the early planning stages at the moment including no website. This means you can take as much creative license as you wish.
We will use design cues from the logo in the website and branding. There may also be an opportunity for the winner to be involved in these later stages.
Our only stipluations are as follows but some of these are more suggestions than mandatory.
Should just contain the word nectar but should allow for strapline addition in future. Must work on both white and black backgrounds. (n could be caps or lower case but lower case may look more 'friendly/approachable')
Our style is professional but informal.
Should also work on printed items such as buiness cards and stationery etc but are happy to go with 3 or 4 colours.Â
The name nectar was chosen as the aim is to create attractive sites which attract lots of visitors (like bees to nectar) So it would be nice to see use of bee imagery (not too cartoony) or flowers or both if it doesn't look too much. Hopefully in a nice modern illustrative style.
In terms of illustrative style as long as it is contemporary looking - fitting with a web design agency anything goes.Â
We do like the style used in this illustration though http://www.istockphoto.com/file_clo…id=1553575
Again don't want to be too restrictive on colours but we were thinking colours like black and yellow or orange would be fitting.
Suggestions from our team include orange letters 'growing' out of a thin strip of grass or use of bee type coloursimagery or at least yellow and black and a cool grey text. These are only basic ideas for starters.
 !!!!NOTE ADDED AFTER ORIGNAL BRIEF!!!
