Mage & Minions is a turn-based strategy game with light RPG elements set in a hex-based grid fantasy world. The player takes the role of a powerful wizard who engages in duels with other wizards by summoning creatures, casting spells, and controlling the battlefield. While there is single-player content, the heart of the experience is multiplayer, with players facing off against in other players in either asynchronous, turn-based battles that play out over hours or days, or in synchronous, turn-based battles via pass & play or over wifi that play out over several minutes.
Who is the Target Demographic?
The “lifestyle” gamer who is 15-30 years old, both male and female. They’re gamers and proud of it. They’re brand loyal and eat up anything from Apple, Nintendo, and Valve. They play League of Legends and spend a lot of time with games. They’re not fans of games that smell of “pay to win,” and they have better things to do with their time than be a slave to in-game timers and wither mechanics. Of course they have iPads and the latest iPhones, and download new apps almost daily. For mobile apps, their tastes skew towards games highlighted on Touch Arcade like Hero Academy, Minecraft, and Jetpack Joyride and will give any iPad game, that has a compelling look and gamer-friendly feel, a fair shot.
