• Must incorporate practice name
• Must incorporate an image that can be used as a separate, identifiable logo with or without the practice name (see Priority Pet Hospital below for an example)
o Image should clearly convey two ideas: pets and healthcare
o Left-justified image logo with name on the right preferred (see examples below)
o Pet images limited to dogs, cats, reptiles, or small mammals (hamsters, ferrets, etc.); no birds or large animals as we will not be seeing these patients
o Stylized animal images preferred to realism
o Animal images are not necessary, but the logo should convey pets/animals in some clear way
o Simple is usually better
o Curves are better than angles
• Color scheme: maximum of three colors, two is probably best; needs to be conducive to embroidering on uniforms and translating to monochrome for fax letterhead
o Colors are negotiable but no more than two should be used - logo needs to convert to monochrome/embroidery well.
• Overall style: We want to convey that our practice is modern, technologically advanced, and professional. Friendly is probably the most accurate term - we don’t want to convey coldness or sterility, but we are not looking to convey the casual, cutesy spirit many clinics try to convey.
Some Example Logos
A bit busy with the shadowing, but the image does an excellent job of conveying “pet healthcare”
Really like the font choices here and the simplicity of the logo
Not really what we’re looking for, but a great logo – conveys the location and as an added bonus, a sense of the urbane and modern
