Achang needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 78 designs submitted by 24 freelance designers.

GEL’s vision is to influence and drive the development of young Chinese children between ages of 2 and 7 by giving them the world’s best educational products and services. Our goal is to not only help them succeed in subjects such as English, Chinese, math, and science but more importantly provide tools that will promote EQ, creativity and moral values.
GEL will win because it will integrate a unique and highly defensible multi-pronged distribution network throughout China – including first, second, and third tier cities. This is critical to differentiating GEL. Owning the customer is the key to success in China and will protect against margin erosion. Being a pure content and technology play in China exposes companies to piracy and regulatory issues. In China, having direct access to the customer and owning your own channel drives value. GEL will succeed because it will also build a strong and trusted nationwide brand focused on the 2-7 year old segment – something that doesn’t exist in China.
Logo needs to communicate that we will be using technology, print, interactivity, and great content to speed education and learning.
