amy EE got their new logo design by running a design contest:
IWA Logo Contest
Check out amy EE's Logo design contest…
IWA is an economic development group for a city in the Midwest - Crawfordsville, IN. Our target audience is site selectors and business and industry decision makers. We want business and industry to come to our great city. We are located in West Central IN, just an hour northwest of Indianapolis and 2.5 hours south of Chicago. The new logo for Indiana West Advantage (IWA) should be strong, attention-grabbing, and professional. We want to convey a bold, modern approach that indicates a strong direction - Indiana is a desirable location for business & industry. Logo should convey that Indiana is a place for strong business opportunity and economic value. Logo should represent an advanced, cutting edge, progressive, forward thinking destination for business and industry. We are open to different layouts for Indiana West Advantage as well as an acronym (IWA) as main logo graphic, but because we are a newly named economic development group, want the name spelled out as well – for optimal brand identity opportunity. Colors could represent any combo or all of the following: trust, success, wisdom, imagination, knowledge, energy, intellect, balance, creativity, growth.
Logo types to explore
COLORS IN LOGO SHOULD/COULD CONVEY: Open to the following options: Blue mixed with a steely silver/gray color Royal blue steel silver/ gray and black accent Yellow & blue with gray Green & blue (perhaps with gray accent) Orange, gray/silver and blue or green Additional Notes: Indiana West Advantage. Adding a logo and tagline to our new name will create the foundation of “our brand”. The goal for the new logo is to plant a subtle seed of progress promising a superiority of place: a more complete and modern condition in which to do business. Our logo is not just a perfunctory badge of identification. It contributes to the world finding us in the competitive fog. Therefore, how we go about our design and selection process is important. The logo you can expect will be an easy to remember, bold, contemporary combination of color, graphic and font that delivers a seed of understanding. Like our new name, our new logo will graphically represent our mission by promising an economic development “advantage”.
