Nantucket Lightship baskets and bracelets
Art & Design
We are a group of basket weavers specializing in Nantucket Lightship baskets and bracelets. The name Grey Lady is a nickname for Nantucket Island due to the frequent fog that surrounds the island making navigation very difficult, especially in the whaling days. The name Lightship refers to the lightships that were anchored at the shoals to guide sailors into the harbor with their bright beacons. Many of those who manned the lightships passed the long hours by weaving baskets for their loved ones back home. We would prefer to not just use the map of the island as this is pretty overdone. We will need point of sale, website, bags, tags, etc. collateral.
The tail of the letter "y" in Grey or Lady to be incorporated into the map of Nantucket is one option. Another option is to incorporate weaving similar to the baskets we make into the logo. A website to browse would be the Nantucket Lightship Basket Museum.org, DELS Nantucket or google "Nantucket Basket images" for examples.

Working with Kvella was lovely, she was professional and creative. What I learned was many were submitting basic designs, hers was very creative. She responded quickly and gave suggestions. It was a pleasure working with her.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
