Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a not-for-profit golf, bowls and croquet club with attached accommodation, located on the Murray River, on the border of NSW and VIC in Australia. The club has just started running the western menu bistro and therefore changing the name (by member vote) to help re-brand and change perceptions. "Fairways" is related to golf. Please take note of our "Howlong Golf Resort" logo (utilising our famous windmill and lakes from the golfcourse incorporated into the design). The bistro offers tea, coffee, cakes, slices, lunch (hot and sandwiches etc.), dinner with specials. Think typical club/pub food with a few daily specials and slightly fancier dinner menu.
We market to our locals (currently mostly retirees), and travelling golf groups (mostly visiting for a weekend from Melbourne). We're wanting to target a younger demographic (18-45 year olds).
