Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Powershare provides construction and consulting services to renewable energy developers in the United States. Our customers are typically large businesses who develop wind and solar farms. Currently our main service is building and servicing meteorological towers and data loggers to precisely measure wind energy potential at a particular site (see attached photos below as well as several pictures from our website at http://www.powershare.coop of the towers that we install). Our data acquisition systems collect “bankable data” that allow our customers to qualify for the large sums of money that are required to build wind and solar farms. We are starting to expand into installing rooftop solar energy systems for commercial customers and will likely provide other renewable energy consulting and construction services as we expand. One of the meanings behind our name, Powershare, is that renewable energy is a source of power that everyone can be a part of. The idea of community wind or solar projects or having a power plant on your roof is that renewable power is a more democratic source of energy. The name also embodies the value of collaboration between owners, employees, contractors, vendors and customers needed to successfully complete our projects Power up! Power to the people! Go go power rangers! Everyone can have a share (or piece) of the renewable energy pie.
Attached are some examples of logos we found on the internet that we like.
We’re of course open to a complete new design that doesn’t incorporate any of the elements in the attached file.

While our work is highly technical, our logo and font don’t need to necessarily convey this aspect of our work. Our vision of working together to create a renewable energy future can be the driving idea behind our branding and public image. Something that would look good on a t-shirt, bumper sticker, notepad or other Powershare collectible that one of our employees and customers would actually want to hold onto.
