This group (team) will be involved in establishing churches in Reno, Nevada. The first church begin in 18 months and be called Living Hope Church. There will be a website for that first church. Right now we are going to create a website that shares a vision for the goal of establishing many churches in the Reno area. There will be a separate website that will be created sooner that will give information to people in our network who would be interested in partnering with us in our goal. We would prefer to have some continuity between both websites (the first one that establishes the vision ["Hope for Reno"] and remains in place for years to come and the second website for the first church that won't be created until a few months before the launch of the first church ["Living Hope"]). So we are looking for a logo that is versatile - one that uses an emblem and text. The emblem can be used as universal - where the text can be versatile (i.e. Emblem plus "Living Hope", AND Emblem plus "Hope for Reno"). Hope will be the more predominant word. Therefore, the Emblem can use HOPE or just the letter H because that can be used for both websites. Living and Church will only be used for the first church. Among the words Living Hope Church, church will be small ... less dominant.
Though we thought of utilizing nature landscaping originally (mountains, plants, water, etc...), we've been less inclined to it after noticing how often it is used in church logo designs. But if it's given a less conventional approach natural landscape designs can be used effectively. We've also become less inclined into the incorporation of a cross or Bible for the same reasons. However, if done in the right away, they could still be used effectively as long as they are not used in an old fashion way. Particularly, the cross could be used if done the right way and not traditional. We like the idea of using the colors that fit Reno like Blue (003366) and Silver (807f84) OR gray (999999). But the emblem/logo should be able to stand on its own in grayscale. The use of a third color or other colors is not a problem. We're just thinking out loud about it. I'll try to give more input as needed. Thank you for your work! We are excited about the work that you all are doing.
