I am just taking over an anglers forum and need a logo designed.
The forum was run by a large aggregate company who have now sold off all their fishing lakes and therefore have no need for the forum which they had initially set up as a community area for the anglers of the various lakes they managed.
The forum is currently a part of the soon to be defunked CEMEX Angling website (http://www.cemexangling.co.uk) and now needs to be a standalone forum with no association to the existing CEMEX Angling or the parent CEMEX website.
I have therefore registered the domain name: The Anglers Forum (theanglersforum.co.uk).
I'm looking for a logo that represents fishing (if an image of fish is used it must be either a British freshwater fish (carp (main species) but also pike, barbel, perch, rudd) or an unrecognisable representation/caricature of a fish.
I like logos that have a relevant symbol and the wording (name of the forum) in a modern font.
I would like the logo to be narrow in depth so as not to use too much depth in the header.
I think a simple 2-3 colour max logo would be best as I would possibly like to embroider the logo onto clothing in the future. With that in mind the logo needs to work well on both white and black backgrounds. As a lot of fishing clothing is green's it also needs to work on dark and moss green backgrounds. If I do go for this type of 'flat' logo it needs to be one that can work in reverse knockout colour.
All that said I do also like the web 2, shiny, vibrant logos and would also like to see examples of these.
As the CEMEX angling forum and logo is established, I would also like to see examples of logos that have a similarity to assist in familiarity. The current logo has a red and blue fish, I don't like these colours. They were simply used because that is the corporate colour of the parent company CEMEX.
I would possibly like a slogan but I've not settled on one yet, for now use 'your opinion counts' but I may end up not using one at all.
