T-Trak Modules and More
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
T-Kits.com sells base modules for the T-Trak (ttrak.wikidot.com) model train hobby. T-Kits provides a full line of wooden modules that are the building blocks for that hobby. The modules are small - ranging from 1 sq. foot to 3 sq. ft., making the hobby attractive to beginners and those with limited space. The consumer sometimes uses these modules to build their own home train layout, but more often joins local clubs to create large temporary layouts at train shows, shopping malls, museums, and other public venues. T-Kits modules are available as kits or pre-assembled modules. The modules are compatible with international T-Trak standards, and built by computer-controlled (CNC) routers to the most exacting standards.
Target audience is primarily focused to 2 very different populations - young people, and older retired modelers. The small module size is designed to lower the entry requirements, allowing young people and people with limited time and money to become involved in model railroading. T-Trak has proven very popular for Scout troops and other youth groups as a way of creating community projects. While T-Kits.com will market its products in the U.S. market, the T-Trak concept has proven wildly successful around the world, with organizations on 4 continents and membership growing exponentially.
The image we want to portray is making the hobby easy and simple. We do all the carpentry and electrical work so that the customer can concentrate on having fun with trains. Clean lines and simplicity need to be balanced with the image of the exacting standards of the computer-controlled tooling. The alternative to our products is some guy cutting wood in his backyard. So we bring both simplicity and precision to the customer (at a very affordable price).

The emphasis desired is one of exactness and simplicity. We are trying to use state-of-the-art equipment to make the customer's life simpler and worry free. We are creating a product that has, until now, been made in people's backyard. And the target audience is looking for simplicity.
