We would like to have a design that could be used in many mediums/applications. Here are some of them we know we want to use our logo for currently: letterhead, business cards, website, social media, lighted sign, sign board, possibly signs carved in wood???, embroidered on hats, printed on shirts, window clings, & window stickers/decals. We know that if our logo is too detailed it may make it hard or excessively costly to do things like the stitching on hats.
We would really like the logo to have a very outdoor feel to it but it also needs to be something that has a little bit of a bed and breakfast feel to it since that is part of our business. We have talked about using mountains, trees, and etc. If we were to incorporate an animal we would probably prefer a moose.
One thing that may add some complexity is that our building has a green tin roof and wood siding. We can supply a picture, but we would obviously like it to not clash against our building. There is an old conoco sign in front of the building that we are talking pulling the sign down and put our logo in its place on top of the existing post. We would obviously pull down the old sign with the old business name that is behind it too.
I have made a few hand sketches of some ideas I have had which I will upload. I am just worried that they are too detailed for all the things we are wanting to do with our logo.
We are kind of thinking that we would like it to be a vintage logo, but we would also like it to stand out. Here are some websites that I have found that have some vintage logos that I have been looking at:
I am also uploading a picture of a mountain range at sunset from the area that is referred to as the sleeping lady. We thought we might want it to be incorporated into our logo, but if it makes the logo too detailed we will probably leave it out.
We have also talked about possibly using a basic logo with a scenic background behind it from the area. I have uploaded some examples of some similar type logos.
We are really trying to make our business and the area a destination spot.
Here are some of the businesses located close to use that are a little bit of a competitors that may give you some ideas of where we are located as well as what we need to stand out against.
Here is the website of our closet neighbor: http://www.falconsledge.com/
Here are a few more but they aren't as close to the mountains so they don't utilize them as much: http://www.hiddenspringsutah.com/
Our goal is to have a business that is a hub for outdoor recreational activities. Here is a website of a business that I know of that is doing somethings that are somewhat similar to what we want to be doing in a few years: http://www.zionponderosa.com/index.html
