Logo Design Brief: EDE PEP This brief outlines the requirements for the design of the “EDE PEP” logo design – the overarching brand for the Government of Haiti’s campaign on all Social Protection initiatives. Name of the campaign: EDE PEP Purpose/Usage of logo: • This is brand demonstrates a unified government approach to social protection. It is directly associated with the Martelly-Lamothe Government. • This brand will be consistently used across all social protection programs’ events, mass media communication materials, and beneficiary materials. o Branded items for all programs & activities related to Social Protection, including beneficiary registration event materials (tents, t-shirts, banners, registration documents) o Government Documents: Strategy documents on all programs, PPT updates for the press & public o Outdoor Marketing: billboards, banners, posters, flags o Communications: Press, Radio, TV, etc. – all social protection programs are a part of the Gouvenmen Martelly-Lamothe EDE PEP. We can use the EDE PEP umbrella to show how everything is a sub-program of it: • EDE PEP | Ti Manman Cheri • EDE PEP | Aba Grangou, etc. Imagery – some ideas – please offer your own: • Hands holding hands to help each other: imagery of collaboration, people holding each other’s hands to help them up steps. • The sun: The sun is our highest source of power that warms people – and this government is a high-energy source of power for change in the country. One idea is to have “EDE PEP” words either inside the sun emanating out, or written beneath it – inspiration from the Egyptian imagery of the sun god, and Haitian artisanal images of the sun. The Martelly-Lamothe Govt is a huge source of positive energy… I don’t know, try a few different ideas based on this idea. • Dislikes: I do NOT like the generic little figures that NGOs use to show “people” as a generic thing. I want this to be REAL imagery with a clear symbolism of these real forces of power & life. Not just generic concepts that represent real things. Does that make sense?
Logo types to explore
Colors: As this logo is for the Government’s campaign for all its Social Protection initiatives, it should be in a deep blue. The blue/red combination is overused in all these programs, so it would be nice to have an accent color that differentiates it. Perhaps blue and white, with a bright accent color. The logo itself needs to be just a word mark – or with one symbol within the words like web 2.0 (see examples below): The words can be stacked like this: EDE PEP Or in a line: EDE PEP Gouvenman Martelly-Lamothe ap EDE PEP! Based on the shape of how we stack or write out the words, we can put boxes around the letters. There is a nice symmetry to EDE PEP, in that we have the E’s on both ends & in the middle for the two different words. Needs to be bold and clear– visible on big billboards & small business cards alike. It will often be shown with the attached logos of FAES, Ti Manman Cheri and Aba Grangou… and eventually add every new government program as a sub-logo under the EDE PEP umbrella. The brand values: It must communicate the strength of the government to deliver on its promises to the people, the energy of a young & motivated leadership who are actively creating results for the population.
