Hit it out of the park on the first shot. We requested a bunch of variations, but we just kept coming back to the original. With a final minor tweak, we are looking forward to displaying our friendly little Uber Klaus to the world!

We offer unique office-type pools for competing against friends, coworkers and anyone else in everything from football to golf to Hollywood awards season, strictly for fun. The Yahoo's and ESPN's of the world have the common pools like Fantasy and Survivor. We build the fun, lesser known ones so the managers of those pools can enjoy them rather than spend hours and hours manually entering data in to spreadsheets.
For the uninitiated, a pool in this sense is where a person makes predictions on the outcome of a certain event (or multiple outcomes within an event) and submits them. Then, after the event, the actual results are compared to the picks for each participant and the winner is the person with the most correct predictions. They range to every topic possible (sports, elections, weather) and are frequently played within groups of friends or office-workers.

Logo types to explore

I love the simplicity and playfulness of the Hipmunk logo. My vision for the Pickem Wizard logo is a simple, cartoonish-style full body wizard that doesn't look too similar to the common ones (Disney, Harry Potter, etc...) wearing a robe and possibly making use of a staff in such a way that indicates the action of selection, or picking. I know that is extremely vague, so it isn't required, just something to think about. Also, no stars on the robe. It screams Disney. To me, there is a big difference between cartoonish and childish. Steer away from the latter.
I attached 3 images for reference to this job.
- The Hipmunk logo: A logo I really enjoy and would like used for inspiration for the Pickem Wizard logo.
- 2 clipart-esque wizard images I found that are a good source of direction.
- Yoda. I like the 'mastery, knows more than you do' look on Yoda's face. When a person fills out their bracket for March Madness each year (a type of pool) they feel confident, like they know something the other players don't. I would like the logo to represent that feeling in some way.
- a 47' Brand hat which is what I plan to print a run of with the logo on the front and the website url on the back.
My plan at the outset is to utilize this logo for brand recognition on the site and through email marketing, but also to print a run of hats for street marketing (these are the blank hats: http://www.47brand.com/shop/other/4…6517.aspx)
