For the logo, I am looking for an emblem styled logo with clear edges. It should have a clearly defined outer edge/shaped, since often it will be placed on top of varying backgrounds. For example, this logo would be printed on the bottom corner of board game boxes, and the color of the backgrounds of the boxes might be wildly varied, so the logo needs to be kind of Stamp/Badge like in nature so that it doesn't accidentally blend in with the background. It needs to have clear outer edges.
For the general shape, it doesn't have to be a circle/square/anything -- you have flexibility about choosing the overall shape, as long as the outside border is clearly defined.
About the theme, even though we are a board game company, I don't want anything game related in the logo. No dice, no playing cards, no spinner wheels, etc. The word bluff has two meanings for our company. On the one hand, it is the action of deception in a game, such as poker, when you pretend and fake out your opponent, but on the other hand, it also can mean a sharp, steep cliff in nature, and this natural cliff structure is what we want the logo to focus on. We want some kind of steep cliff shape in the logo. Perhaps this is in the center of the badge, or perhaps it's jutting out from the top or side, etc. But, there needs to be a natural bluff somewhere there. If you're unsure exactly what a bluff is, I have attached 6 photos that I like to this brief. In general, we are looking for something more cartoony and goofy, as opposed to classic and conservative.
For the text, we're open to ideas about the style, but we don't want it to be too formal or too classic. Modern and cartoony is probably good, since we are making games after all.
For colors, since we're focusing on a natural bluff, I imagine the colors will be focused on blue/green/white/brown. Ex: Green might be grass, brown might be dirt/cliff, blue might be sky or water, white might be clouds, etc.
I'm quite communicative and will be active, so please message me anytime if you have any questions or want any clarifications before you get started on some designs! Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with :)
