shaxs got their new button or icon by running a design contest:
Icons needed for web 2.0 application $300 PRIZE
Check out shaxs's Button or icon contest…
We are developing a web 2.0 helpdesk system because we are sick of all the bloated, over-priced ones out there that do not work properly. We need a set of initial icons for our system.
What's your vision?
Desired Color Scheme: read brief Desired Style: Web 2.0 Accepted File Formats: Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) We are developing a web 2.0 helpdesk system because we are sick of all the bloated, over-priced ones out there that do not work properly. We need a set of initial icons for our system. We would like, if possible, for the icons to be vector based so we can scale them as needed. Our initial size will be 60x60 pixels. If you cannot do vector based, please let us know with your submission. This will not automatically count you out. These icons need to have a very web 2.0 feel to them. The color scheme of the help desk will be changed based on the users preference, so the icons will need to go well with different color schemes. Or you will need to provide the same icons in different colors. YOU MAY NOT borrow icons from somewhere else- they MUST be original to this contest only. We will need the following icons: - Submit a ticket - Check ticket status - Live Chat (not this is not the icon/logo that will be embedded on websites that will say online/offline, but this will be an icon to depict live chat is part of the system - Knowledgebase - Manuals (like a software manual on how to operate or do things) - Downloads - Forums - Tutorials (like flashed or video based tutorialsThe winner will be paid via paypal and the prize money is $300. I have run quite a few successful contests here on SitePoint before. We also will be needing more icon work as we progress with the system, so we will come back to the winner for more icons later. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments! Thanks UPDATE: I have uploaded a very early mockup of the helpdesk homepage where these icons will be used: http://www.clevertools.com/temp/helpdesk-home.jpg . Don't judge too hard, its a first round draft ;) But it should give you a better idea of style and color. Â
