What's your vision?
I want a ground-up redesign of our "Whiteboard: Collaborative Drawing" app. The app will run on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android devices. This design will be used for the sequel to Whiteboard, which will be a new app. I am looking for about 4-8 different screens: 1. News Feed: updates/info/drawings from friends, followers, users you're following, and nearby drawings and comments. There may be titles, user info, time ago, likes, comments, and some kind of UI for marking items as "spam" or "abuse". Users should be able to post comments from a popover on this screen. 2. People: info/drawings sorted by user. There may be "Recent", "Popular", and "Nearby" filters. 2.5. View Drawing screen: The drawing cannot be edited from this screen. Users can leave comments from this screen. (Not a full screen) 3. Popover for the user to start making a new drawing. There may be "New", "Snapshot" (photo from camera), and "Upload" (image from iOS Photo Album) buttons. 4. "Me" screen/tab, showing the user's own info, like photo/avatar, Name, Age, Location, Drawings, Favorites, Followers, Following, and social networks. 5. Edit Drawing screen: Screen for editing a drawing, usually starting with a blank canvas. 5.5. You may want to have a separate, or overlay, screen with advanced drawing tools. (Optional) 6. Settings screen. You can make up a few example settings that should go here. (Optional) 7. App icon/logo. The design doesn't necessarily need all of these elements, but it should be fairly complete, plus some unique, creative, cohesive flair. It should have an overall theme and character. You MUST submit a design for iPhone (Retina display). We prefer vector artwork. Please include a design for iPad as well. You can optionally include Android designs, which may improve your chances of winning. For the iPhone design, it must look like a nicely-designed iPhone app. For example, if you wish to include a status bar at the top of the screen (showing time, battery life, etc.), you must use an iOS standard status bar.
We'd like it to be simple, fun, useful. It should be professional yet elegant, and be easy and attractive for young users (around high school age) to use. The mockups are not complete, nor do they reflect the way the design should look. Please be creative in coming up with a nicer look and feel. On the example with rows of images posted by Thuy Truong, you should add some visual separation between rows. This may be some kind of separating design element, or it can be background color or texture. If you think it makes sense to do so, I'd like to change the text "My gallery" to simply "Gallery".

Gianluca is an incredibly gifted designer. His sensibility and instinct is impeccable. He is very very talented, versatile and has an uncanny ability to understand the needs of his clients. In addition to his technical, artistic ability he possess that rare sense of vision that you cannot learn but simply have to have as part of your instinct. We look forward to working together again.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
